For the second year in a row I had the honor of photographing Childsavers Supper at Sunset. The organization does such amazing work and I'm so happy to be able to support them in any small way. Lynchburg

I'm ashamed to say that I've lived in Richmond since I was in the second grade - and no I'm not going to tell you how many years ago that was - and I've NEVER been to Lynchburg. There were various reasons for that, but now that I've been,  no excuse. It is a charming city that surprised me with its vintage shops and beautiful river walk. There's no shortage of great food, fun places to stay, and a downtown that's really coming into its own. If you get the chance, stop in and spend some time there.

Life is Tough, Get a Helmet

As you can tell from the picture above of my nephew, Jack, he gets it. Life is tough, and sometimes you need a helmet. We spent Mother's Day weekend down in Charlotte with my sister's family and had a great time with the kiddos. As I watch them grow up, I wish so much that I could do an iPhone drop of all the life lessons in my brain into theirs, then maybe it wouldn't take them decades to learn the same. But I guess where's the fun in that? Since I don't think iPhone's have that capability yet, I'll have to settle for being there as they grow up and expelling advice where I can along the way.
