It's Friday, Love

I haven't managed to get an It's Friday, Love post up for the past two weeks which is extremely ironic considering it's the more substantial content that I had trouble keeping up with over the summer. The good news is that means October has been awesome. The band has had so many wonderful shows and I've had great times with friends enjoying fall in Virginia. The bad news is I realized this morning when I woke up that I'm officially pooped. It's been a bit of a whirlwind. After Halloween I will officially be on detox/self-care patrol before Thanksgiving gets here and I see if I can drink a glass of wine while eating a turkey leg. A Blue Sky

Church Hill Music Co. had a blast playing the Richmond Celtic Festival this past weekend. The crowd was amazing and it doesn't get much better than playing music under a blue sky in October. Thanks to Karen Rankin who took these photos for us. 

Abingdon

I had a chance to spend a few days in Abingdon recently for a conference and like all other small towns, I found myself drawn to it's doorways and buildings, it's charm and it's history. Hope you enjoy the pics. 

Spell Czech

So.....Virginia has a Czech and Slovak Folklife Heritage Festival. Who knew? When my friend Kristen (who is Slovak) and I (a 1/4 Czech) heard about this, we immediately decided to go. We spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon watching cabbage rolling games, eating native dishes (luckily I'm a cabbage fan) and seeing people with the same noses as us. Hope you enjoy the pics!
