Layers

Packing for Seattle, as I've mentioned, was a challenge. The temperature was predicted to swing 30 degrees in a day and the highs ranged from 92-77. Needless to say, I wore layers, and almost all of what my 49 lb. suitcase held. Seattle too had it's layers, and was honestly not what I expected. I think I had a romanticized coffee shop-filled version built up in my head from it's early 90's renaissance. I wasn't prepared for the grit of the city or the commercialization. I had to search for the small neighborhoods, islands and water coves where I felt more at home. That was where she was most beautiful, the places where she just was. Nothing extra, no sheen on top. Just the water and the air and me. Enjoy the pics!
