Thanksgiving

I have a dream. Well, I have lots of dreams. One is a Thanksgiving dream. I want to make Turducken. You know....that amazing creation of lord knows who that consists of not only turkey, but chicken and duck. Heaven! I want to invite everyone over to my place, wear jeans all day, cook, drink wine, forbid football to be turned on, take a nap and basically have a fabulous time. Alas this year, AGAIN, it was not meant to be. Don't get me wrong it was a great day, but my Thanksgiving dream (like a few others at the moment) will have to wait till next year. Patience....it's only time.

This year my family (my mother) decided not to cook so we went to Tanglewood Ordinary in Goochland. We've been going there since I was a kid and the food never disappoints. It's the kind of place with no menu and food brought to your table in bowls heaping with country goodness. There was country ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, yams and more. Yum! The building itself is an old log cabin that was used for USO dances in the forties. I'd actually like to build a house in a field not far from it and watch the river from my porch on the weekends. Did I mention dreams already???

After family time was over I headed to my friend Kristen's house for desert and other delicious goodies with her crew. It was a wonderful way to end the day. I hope your Thanksgiving was nice as well.
