A Mary Brunch

Everyone has their favorite place to get a Bloody Mary, that most American of brunch drinks that wakes you up on a lazy Sunday morning with it's warm, spicy goodness. The best one I ever had was at Cookshop in Chelsea. I surprised my sister a few years ago for her birthday and we spent the weekend in New York City. Our friend Allen introduced us to Cookshop and for that, my taste buds and I will always be grateful.

My friend Kristen and I decided to take a stab (no pun intended Ms. Mary) at making our own version this past weekend and I'm happy to report we make an amazing Bloody Mary! We used this recipe to start with but ended up almost doubling all of the spices because it definitely needed more punch. I also added Old Bay to the mix and lined the rim for an extra kick. Brunch wouldn't be complete without a Frittata and some absolutely yummy Chocolate Pumpkin Bread. Enjoy!

  1. Your photography keeps getting better each blog Kelly. Although I am not a fan of the Bloody Mary, (it is a tomato juice thing) I can appreciate a beverage that make's me miss the sea, with an injection of old bay, on a chilly Sunday morning.
